I rewrote the Yuan-Ti culture to make them more engaging and less stereotyped. I find the original Yuan-Ti to be probably racist derivatives of Mesoamerican peoples, so while some of the difficult depictions remain intact here to keep these still Yuan-Ti in a way that fits the standard D&D-verse, it is hopefully much improved. I’ve added a distinct Illuminati element to them and re-framed their civilization as worthy and powerful, yet alien and distinctly creepy to outsiders. Their culture is very firmly Maya in my rework, and the character I play based on this lore uses a Mayan name and Maya aesthetics.
Yuan-Ti LoreI created this universe-building doc to have sufficient setting and mythology options for any campaign ever. The idea was to have a broad multiverse that any campaign (and multiple platforms, not just D&D) could run in, while sharing a world. By sketching out whole planets in broad strokes, there is enough freedom for any landmass of the GM’s choosing and almost any scenario to play out.
The World TreeI re-skinned Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings for some players who demanded a place to adequately spend their riches. Túr Scáth is actually set in one of the worlds sketched out in my The World Tree universe-building doc.
